KDD Careers Kuwait : Jobs in Kuwait KDD is one of the most beloved and trusted brands across generations in the Middle East. With a strong portfolio of dairy, juices, ice creams, and culinary products, KDD products are a common presence in kitchens, pantries, and refrigerators throughout the region.
History
KDD was established in 1962 as a dairy company with a mission to support nutritional needs through packaged dairy products for the local market. Beginning operations from its first plant in the Shuwaikh area of Kuwait, KDD initially produced milk and yoghurt. Over the decades, the company expanded significantly, transforming into a multi-category, multi-product leader serving diverse consumer groups.
1962
Originally named the Danish Kuwaiti Dairy Company (DANKUWA), KDD began with the production of pasteurized milk and yoghurt in Shuwaikh.
1972–78
During this period, KDD launched Kuwait’s first ice cream production line—an iconic addition that remains popular today.
1981–87
This era marked major modernization. The Sabhan factory was inaugurated, introducing long-life milk technology. KDD expanded production into fruit juices, cheese, and tomato paste, and began exporting to GCC countries. The company became fully Kuwaiti-owned and formally adopted the name Kuwait Danish Dairy Company (KDD).
1990–2000
Despite the Iraqi invasion, KDD continued operating until its factory was bombed in February 1991. The company quickly relocated to temporary facilities to continue serving consumers. A strong phase of rebuilding and modernization followed, strengthening KDD’s transition into the 21st century with a wide range of fresh and long-life products.
