Kuwait Roads Authority Confirms Quick Response to Minor Water Accumulations on Highways

Kuwait Roads Authority:The General Authority for Roads and Land Transport announced that its field teams successfully addressed minor water accumulations that appeared on several highways this morning due to ongoing rainy conditions in the country. The authority confirmed that the situation did not cause any traffic disruptions, and all roads remained open and safe for motorists.

According to Arabic newspaper, coordination with all relevant agencies is ongoing, with continuous monitoring of road conditions 24/7 to ensure preparedness for any weather developments.

Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, Director General of the Roads Authority, emphasized that the stormwater drainage network on Kuwait’s highways is functioning efficiently. He noted that the network had been cleaned and inspected ahead of the rainy season, contributing to the smooth handling of today’s rainfall.

Al-Osaimi added that teams quickly pumped and treated the limited water accumulations at several locations to maintain safe and steady traffic flow.

Meanwhile, Engineer Ahmed Al-Saleh, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, confirmed that emergency teams remain deployed across various governorates. They continue to monitor and inspect areas historically prone to rainwater buildup, ensuring the readiness of drainage outlets for future weather conditions.

Al-Saleh urged all drivers to exercise caution on the roads and follow the instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior to ensure public safety.
