Kuwait population:Kuwait Records Strong Population Growth in First Nine Months of 2025

Kuwait’s population has witnessed a remarkable surge in the first nine months of 2025, increasing by 3.6% and adding 181,000 new residents. According to the latest figures, the population reached 5.169 million by the end of the third quarter, compared to 4.988 million at the end of December 2024. This marks the highest population growth rate since 2021.

The data, published in the quarterly report of the Central Bank of Kuwait and sourced from the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), highlights a robust upward trend. On a year-on-year basis, Kuwait’s population grew by 4.44%, rising by 223,000 people from 4.946 million recorded in September 2024.

Quarterly growth also remained positive. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, when the population stood at 5.099 million, the number increased by 70,000, reflecting a 1.37% rise.

Historical data shows that Kuwait has maintained steady population growth in recent years. The country recorded 2.3% growth in 2022, followed by 2.59% in 2023, and 2.6% at the end of 2024. The 2025 figures, however, indicate the strongest momentum in four years.

The continued rise is expected to influence multiple sectors including housing, infrastructure, labor demand, and public services—positioning 2025 as a pivotal year for demographic and economic planning in Kuwait.Stay informed about Kuwait’s latest financial news, visa updates, and job openings by joining our WhatsApp channel:
