Three arrested for posting video mocking current situation in Kuwait


The Ministry of Interior Kuwait announced the arrest of two Kuwaiti citizens and a Colombian national for posting a video on social media mocking the current situation in the country.

According to the ministry, the arrests were made as part of its continuous monitoring of social media platforms. Authorities acted after a video circulated online showing the three individuals making remarks that mocked the present circumstances in Kuwait.

The suspects are facing charges including spreading false news, harming national interests, and misusing a telephone. Officials confirmed that the individuals have been detained and legal procedures have been initiated to refer them to the competent authorities.

The ministry stressed that such behavior is unacceptable, particularly in light of the current situation in the country and the region.

The Ministry of Interior also reiterated the importance of complying with laws governing the use of social media, urging the public to avoid publishing or sharing any content that could harm the interests of the state.

Authorities called on everyone to uphold their national responsibilities, emphasizing that the law will be firmly enforced against anyone found violating it.
