Indian Embassy Launches “India of Wonders” Tourism Campaign in Kuwait

The Embassy of the Republic of India in Kuwait has launched the “India of Wonders” tourism promotion campaign in Kuwait to boost travel interest among Kuwaiti residents. The initiative coincides with the first anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and Kuwait, announced during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kuwait in December 2014.

The launch event was held at Kuwait Towers Plaza and was attended by Indian Ambassador Paramita Tripathi, CEO of Kuwait Tourism Projects Company Eng. Anwar Abdullah Al-Halila, along with representatives from Kuwaiti and Indian media, travel agencies, tour operators, and members of the Indian community.

As part of the campaign, 20 specially branded buses will operate across various areas of Kuwait for one month, promoting India’s diverse tourism offerings. These include adventure tourism in Rishikesh, wildlife experiences in Gir Forest National Park, serene backwaters in Kerala, and luxury rail travel aboard the Maharaja Express. The campaign also highlights famous destinations such as Munnar’s tea plantations, Nubra Valley in Ladakh, Gulmarg in Kashmir, and historic landmarks including Charminar, Hawa Mahal, and Jal Mahal. For daily updates on Kuwait gold price today, market news, and investment tips, follow our WhatsApp channel:

In a symbolic gesture marking the anniversary, Ambassador Tripathi planted a neem sapling at Kuwait Towers Plaza under India’s “Tree for Mother” initiative, launched on World Environment Day 2024. The global campaign encourages tree planting in honor of mothers and has already resulted in more than 1.4 billion saplings being planted worldwide.

The embassy noted that India’s tourism sector continues to grow rapidly, welcoming about 20.94 million international tourists in 2024, alongside nearly 3 billion domestic trips. India’s vast geographical and cultural diversity ranges from the Himalayas and deserts to tropical islands, beaches, forests, lakes, and waterfalls. The country is home to 44 UNESCO World Heritage sites and 96 Ramsar wetland sites.

Tourism contributes around 5.2% to India’s GDP (2023–2024), supports millions of jobs, and generates significant foreign exchange. Over the past decade, India has invested nearly USD 1 billion in tourism infrastructure, rural tourism development, destination upgrades, and simplified travel through the e-visa facility for Kuwaiti citizens.

The embassy clarified that the “India of Wonders” campaign aims to position India as a top travel destination for Kuwaiti tourists in the coming season through continued promotions and collaboration with Kuwait’s tourism sector.

As part of the campaign, a prize draw has been announced for participants who share photos of the “India of Wonders” buses on Facebook or Instagram within one month, ensuring the logo is visible, tagging the Indian Embassy in Kuwait, and using the official campaign hashtag.
