Field Traffic Campaign Targets Towing Safety Violations

The Security Control Department under the General Directorate of Traffic launched an intensive field traffic campaign targeting vehicles violating towing regulations across several major roads in different areas of Kuwait. The campaign comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen road safety and reduce violations that may endanger motorists and road users.

During the campaign, authorities recorded 180 traffic violations related to towing regulations and safety requirements. The inspections focused on ensuring compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 4391 of 2015, which outlines the legal safety standards for towing operations.

Specialized traffic teams checked the availability of essential safety equipment, reflective warning tapes, proper lighting systems, and the condition of towing connections. Officials also ensured that loads were securely fastened and that all towing safety measures were properly followed.

The campaign highlighted several important regulations, including the prohibition of passengers riding inside trailers during towing operations, adherence to minimum speed limits, and driving in the far-right lane while towing. Authorities also monitored compliance with the approved legal dimensions, load limits, trailer lengths, and height restrictions specified by law.

The General Directorate of Traffic stressed the importance of disconnecting mobile towing equipment after completing towing operations and ensuring that towing vehicles are officially registered as such in the vehicle ownership records according to approved procedures.

Traffic officials confirmed that similar inspection campaigns will continue across various roads in Kuwait, urging motorists and transport operators to comply with traffic laws and safety instructions in order to protect lives, property, and enhance overall traffic safety in the country.
