The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), through its official spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi, stated that the drone targeted the passenger terminal (T1), injuring several employees. The injuries were described as minor, and damage to the facility was limited.
Al-Rajhi said emergency protocols were activated immediately after the incident. The site was secured, and specialized teams began assessment, medical response, and operational reorganization in line with the highest safety standards.
The authority emphasized that the situation is fully under control and that the safety of passengers and airport staff remains the top priority. It added that further updates will be shared through official channels as they become available.
