During an inspection tour in the Salmiya area, inspection teams seized 1,828 counterfeit items carrying internationally registered trademarks from two retail outlets. The shops were immediately shut down, and legal action was taken against the violators.
Al-Ansari added that joint campaigns with the Ministry of Interior also led to the issuance of five violation notices against vehicle repair garages that had carried out bodywork, painting, and modifications on accident-damaged vehicles without official approval. He stressed that such practices will not be tolerated, as they could be exploited to repair vehicles wanted by security authorities or involved in unreported accidents.
Additionally, inspectors discovered an unlicensed warehouse and office containing significant quantities of expired and damaged medical supplies and first-aid kits. The site also housed equipment and labels used to manipulate expiration dates before distributing the products to private clinics and hospitals.
Al-Ansari confirmed that both locations were closed and violation reports were issued, emphasizing that public health and consumer safety are non-negotiable priorities. He reaffirmed that inspection campaigns will continue with zero tolerance for violations.
