Open Positions & Job Descriptions

WHSmith is actively recruiting candidates for retail store operations at Zayed International Airport across three key job levels:

1. Store Supervisors

Core Role: Manage floor operations, lead team shifts, drive sales targets, and oversee inventory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Lead shift execution, handle customer escalations, manage cash-reconciliation procedures, and maintain visual merchandising standards.

2. Senior Sales Associates

Core Role: Support store leadership, assist in training junior staff, process complex transactions, and ensure stock availability.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-level customer support, assist with promotional displays, conduct inventory audits, and operate POS systems.

3. Sales Associates

Core Role: Engage directly with airport passengers, handle cashiering, and maintain store presentation.
Key Responsibilities: Process customer purchases using POS terminals, restock shelves, assist shoppers with product inquiries, and maintain cleanliness across retail bays.

Candidate Qualifications & Selection Criteria

Job Role	Education	Professional Experience	Core Skills
Supervisors	Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma preferred	2–3 years in retail, F&B, or hospitality (with at least 1 year in a supervisory role)	Team leadership, problem-solving, POS proficiency, inventory oversight.
Senior Sales Associates	High School Diploma, Graduate, or higher	Minimum 1 year in retail, F&B, or customer-facing hospitality	Customer service, active selling, merchandising, basic computer literacy.

Operational Shift Requirements

Working in an international airport retail setting requires flexibility to support 24/7 terminal operations:

Shift Availability: Candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Location Flexibility: Candidates willing to support multiple airport terminals or retail locations within Abu Dhabi are highly preferred.
