Medical Practitioner

Job Overview : The Medical Practitioner works under the supervision of a Consultant and/or Specialist Physician and shares responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care in accordance with international best practices.This role supports inpatient and outpatient services while contributing to clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Managerial & Administrative

Support and adhere to established hospital policies, procedures, and initiatives

Participate in performance management systems, peer review, and productivity processes

Engage in committees and working groups as required

Assist senior physicians with administrative responsibilities

🔹 Clinical & Technical Responsibilities

Under supervision of a Consultant and/or Specialist Physician:

Examine, diagnose, and treat assigned patients

Participate in daily ward rounds and reassess patients as required

Organize investigations, follow up on results, and document findings accurately

Review investigation outcomes and modify treatment plans with senior approval

Admit patients referred from Emergency, Primary Care, Specialty Clinics, or other hospitals

Prepare patients for procedures and obtain informed consent

Provide rotational on-call coverage (evenings, nights, weekends, public holidays)

Communicate effectively with patients and families (with consent)

Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and support services

Supervise and support Interns as directed

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Comply with hospital policies on admissions, prescribing, discharge, confidentiality, and follow-up care

🔹 Quality & Safety

Support departmental quality improvement initiatives

Participate in clinical audits

Maintain strict patient confidentiality and informed consent standards

Promote a team-based approach to patient-centered care

🔹 Education & Professional Development

Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities

Engage in teaching sessions and provide instruction to interns and medical students

Participate in departmental clinical research

Stay updated with current medical literature and industry advancements

Qualifications & Experience

Required: Non-UAE Nationals: Minimum 2 years of relevant post-internship experience (Hospital, Primary Healthcare Center, ER, etc.)

UAE Nationals & Non-UAE Graduates of UAE Medical Schools:No additional experience required after successful completion of internship

Special Note: Non-UAE Nationals accepted into HAAD-accredited residency programs through TANSEEQ do not require additional post-internship experience
