Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City – A New Standard of British Education in the UAE : A premium British school in Dubai, Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City draws upon the distinguished 450-year heritage of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet — one of the UK’s most successful and academically renowned grammar schools.Through the pioneering QE Global Schools initiative, QE Barnet becomes the first UK state-funded grammar school to establish affiliated campuses overseas. The Dubai campus represents a historic milestone in international education, combining British academic excellence with Dubai’s spirit of ambition and innovation.

A Landmark Global Partnership :QE Barnet is working in partnership with Global Education (GEDU), an experienced international education provider serving over 60,000 students across 12 countries.

Under this collaboration:

New QE schools will open in the UAE and India.
Each campus will operate as an independent, fee-paying, co-educational school.
Schools will follow England’s National Curriculum.
Each campus will have its own Principal and leadership team, while maintaining QE’s academic standards and ethos.

The Dubai school has received approval from Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), clearing the way for its opening in August 2026, with applications commencing on 4 November 2025.

Educational Vision

The school will offer the QE Essentials — a coherent framework of meticulously developed programmes underpinning a QE education, including:

QE Flourish Programme – Fostering character development through Care, Challenge, Create and Compete
Free-thinking scholarship and academic rigour
A strong pastoral care model inspired by QE Barnet’s House system

Initially opening from Nursery to Year 8, the school will grow in phases to Sixth Form. Its location in Dubai Sports City provides access to world-class sporting facilities, embedding physical excellence as a defining pillar of the educational experience.

Behind the scenes, the Friends of Queen Elizabeth’s charity has established FQE International Enterprises Ltd (FQEIE) to manage the commercial relationship and ensure that revenues generated internationally are reinvested into QE Barnet, further strengthening educational opportunity within the UK state sector.

The project has also been welcomed by Edward Hobart, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE, who praised the initiative as a testament to the strength of UK-UAE educational partnerships.
