Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance team. This role focuses on operational excellence, strong financial controls, and end-to-end accounts payable management. You will ensure accurate and timely invoice processing, vendor management, compliance with internal policies, and support month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process high-volume invoices ensuring accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation
Manage the full AP cycle: invoice intake, validation, batching, payment runs, and remittance advice
Maintain vendor master data and support onboarding and banking updates with appropriate controls
Reconcile AP subledger to General Ledger and resolve discrepancies (short payments, duplicates, unapplied credits)
Coordinate with procurement, operations, claims, and IT teams to resolve invoice and PO issues
Support month-end close activities, including accruals, AP aging review, and reporting
Assist with audit requests and maintain documentation aligned with internal control standards
Track KPIs and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience (insurance or financial services experience is a plus)
Strong knowledge of AP processes, approval workflows, and GL coding
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
High attention to detail and strong deadline management skills
Professional communication skills for vendor and stakeholder coordination
Knowledge of insurance operations (claims, underwriting, policy administration) is an advantage
