The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi, has ordered the closure and license revocation of 15 private pharmacies after confirming major violations of pharmacy and medicine regulations.
The Ministry of Health stated that the pharmacies breached Law No. (28) of 1996 and its amendments governing the practice of pharmacy and the handling of medicines. The measures were taken in coordination with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
In an official post on the X platform, the ministry emphasized that protecting public health is a non-negotiable national priority, warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who jeopardizes patient safety or misuses professional licenses. The ministry also affirmed that inspection and monitoring mechanisms are being continuously strengthened to ensure medicine quality and safe delivery nationwide
